Join us on a meaningful 21-day journey as we enter a season of prayer and fasting. Together, we'll earnestly seek the presence of God, and we're believing for Him to move in powerful ways.

ABOUT FASTING

The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

GETTING STARTED

FASTING

When we fast, we partner with God. He desires to have a divine partnership with each of us in the area of prayer and fasting for our families, our lives, and His purpose.

There are times when our physical actions affect our spiritual victory. As a believer, fasting is perhaps the most powerful physical action we can take when we are ready to see our circumstances change.

We are all at different places in our walk with God. Our jobs, daily schedules, and health conditions are all different and place various levels of demand on our energy. Likewise, fasting may not look the same for each of us. So most importantly, whether you've fasted before or this will be your first time, prayerfully consider what your fast will look like. To help select the fast that fits you, we've listed some potential options in our Fasting Guide

PRAYER

At the center of a season of fasting should be the strengthening of a daily prayer life. There's no better way to begin a fast than by asking for guidance and preparing ourselves spiritually. Confess your sins to God and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Whatever additional areas of your life are you seeking the presence and power of God to transform, make them known in prayer.

As a church, we have seen the power of prayer at work among the people of God. Prayer is a powerful tool that allows us to access the full power and authority of Jesus’ name. Our hope as we journey through 21 Days together is that we each develop a practice of hearing from the Lord.

From a practical standpoint, having a focused thought to begin with can be helpful. In our Prayer Guide, we've compiled several topics you can use to help you begin a time of prayer.
