DON'T CUT THE FRUIT TREES

Mar 9, 2025    Josh Reynolds

God instructed the Israelites not to cut down fruit trees when besieging a city. This seemingly odd command carries a profound spiritual lesson for us today: don't destroy what nourishes you in the long term just to solve a temporary problem. This Biblical principle teaches us to view ourselves as fruit-bearing trees, capable of providing sustenance not just for ourselves but for future generations. This message reminds us to pause before we 'burn it all down' in moments of anger or disappointment, reminding us that our actions have consequences beyond the present moment. This teaching is especially relevant in our fast-paced, instant-gratification culture, urging us to cultivate patience, wisdom, and a long-term perspective in our spiritual lives.
